New Lantern Model: The Frosted Onion

This is so new, its not on our website yet.  I know I'm jumping the gun here, but so many of you have been waiting, I decided to post the picture and hope to get it posted to the website in the next week with specs, pricing, and options. So what is the big deal, you may be asking yourself ??  Well can you say compact fluorescent light (CFL) ? People want to use these energy efficient lights, but they look lousy in a nice onion light fixture. That's where the Frosted Onion comes into play. The frosted glass obscures the unsightly CFL bulb while uniformly diffusing the light.

New Weathervanes ... Many Changes Coming !!

Its both exciting and frustrating. Our major weathervane tinkerer is doing a major overhaul on the copper weathervane line. Lots of discontinued models, but many new styles coming. Getting rid of old inventory... waiting for the coppersmith to make all the new models. Not to mention the time involved on updating the website. Its going to be a busy spring! Please bear with us while we sort things out. Despite people perceiving us as a larger company, We are on the small side. But we like it that way - it enables us to offer superb customer service and stay on top of things.  Needless to say if your holding out on buying that copper horse weathervane, don't wait too long - it may not be here next month. 

Were Moving !!

We have some exciting news. We are moving. The month of April will be a transition month with us packing and moving and by May 1, we should be all settled. We are moving the Office, and shipping and receiving department to Orleans. The showroom merchandise is moving to Brewster, in the back room at Fiddlehead Farm Antiques.

These changes will allow us to operate more efficiently as well as a few added benefits.

These benefits include the addition of weekend hours. Also a wider range of merchandise will be available. Customers who have purchased or received gift cards will be able to use them for anything in the shop - a real benefit to antique lovers!

Feeding the Birds

If your like most people, feeding the birds is an addicting habit. A few feeders by a picture window or a kitchen window. I myself have a nice bow window that has a few comfy chairs that look out onto my collection of bird feeders. My menu consists of the standard black sunflower seed as well as a thistle feeder and of course a suet feeder. Problem is while there are hundreds of different kinds and styles of bird feeders, there seems to be very limited selection of suet feeders. I have never been too fond of the wire cage suet feeders. That's why I love the suet feeder line we have here at the Cape Cod Weathervane Company. They are stylish and attractive as well as functional. This is the only suet feeder that I can fill without getting the suet fat allover my hands. These are a great mothers day gift or teachers gift.

Copper & Brass Onion Lanterns

Our lanterns have been a big hit, not a day goes by that we don't get a call from someone looking for our guidance on choosing the best fixture. I'm amazed (and thankful) at the number of people out west that have some connection to Cape Cod and/or New England and want to add a little of the new England feel to their home. I guess that's why our Onion lantern line is so popular. And with good reason- these are so well made and we believe in them so much that they come with a lifetime warranty. About once a month we get people walking in the showroom or calling looking to replace the cheap fixtures that were bought at the big box stores. They just don't hold up like ours do.
